Enjoying Life with your Yorkshire Terrier

Yorkies are full of character and highly intelligent. It is a misnomer that their purpose is simply as a lapdog. Although, from my experience, they do enjoy being on their owner’s lap, and they’re extremely affectionate and love attention, but they also love adventure.

Don’t assume that due to their small size they cannot join you on long walks, hikes, or even runs. It all depends on the personality of your dog/s, so take note of their preferences and enjoy an enriching journey with them.

In exploring life together, I have no doubt that you will create awesome memories.

I wish to share some tips here about what Higgy and McCarthy enjoyed, how I trained them, and the lessons I learnt along the way.

 

The best advice I received from their puppy-socialisation teacher was “whatever you want to do with them when they’re older, start from the beginning”. I did just that and it has proven to be an invaluable tip!
